Dealing with Digitisation

April 26 – 30 2026, New Delhi, India (English/Hindi)

This intensive training week is designed for museum professionals from across India and beyond who are engaged in collections documentation and digitisation. Many participants will bring substantial practical experience but may not have had formal training. The programme aims to consolidate existing knowledge, introduce international standards and best practices, and build confidence in planning and implementing digitisation projects.

The overarching theme — “Dealing with Digitisation” — addresses both the technical and cultural challenges faced by museums transitioning from paper based or hybrid systems to digital documentation. The emphasis throughout is on empowerment, clarity, and achievable progress.

Classes will be delivered in English with Hindi translation and will cover the essentials of museum documentation theory and practice.

The event includes study sessions, hands-on training workshops and behind-the-scenes study visits.
