ArtLab

The unifying theme of the ArtLab initiative is to build bridges between “hard” science and the humanities, a field in which EPFL already has a college that continues to grow in importance. At the end of 2012, the selection panel chose Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, whose bold design combines the three spaces into one long building, hence the project’s name, Under One Roof.
In late 2017, ArtLab was integrated into EPFL’s College of Humanities, which also includes the school’s Institute of Digital Humanities. ArtLab is placed under the directorship of Prof. Kenderdine, for an initial period of three years.
Laboratory for Experimental Museology (eM+)

eM+ is a new transdisciplinary initiative at the intersection of immersive visualization technologies, visual analytics, aesthetics and cultural (big) data. eM+ engages in research from scientific, artistic and humanistic perspectives and promotes post-cinematic multisensory engagement using experimental platforms. eM+ has 8 unique visualization systems combined with powerful sonic architectures that are benchmarks in the realms of virtual, augmented, mixed realities. These cluster-based 3D systems have been deployed in major exhibitions and installations throughout the world.
ICOM CIDOC

Formed in 1950 at the inaugural meeting of ICOM, the Comité International pour la Documentation (CIDOC) has a long tradition of offering training workshops and seminars. CIDOC's membership is truly international – a community of documentation specialists from more than 70 countries. This collective expertise and experience puts CIDOC in a unique position to provide training in museum documentation in a wide range of languages.
In 2016 CIDOC created the CIDOC Training Association, a non profit organisation chaired by Nicholas Crofts, with responsibility for organising and promoting the CIDOC Training Programme.
